These shrubs are native to the Mediterranean region. The resin is produced by the leaves and stems of the plant and has been used for centuries in perfumery and traditional medicine. Labdanum has a complex and rich aroma, often described as sweet, warm, and amber-like. It is a common base note in perfumes, contributing depth and sweetness to the fragrance composition.
