Delighted !

Having read many reviews, I decided that this was the machine for me only to find it was unavailable at the usual retail outlets. I was initially concerned in purchasing a high value piece of equipment from anywhere other than an a well known retail outlet never mind from one with a somewhat bizarre name. However, I had a couple of technical questions before ordering and the staff at Clumsy Goat couldn’t have been more helpful. The whole ordering and delivery process was exemplary. Both the grinder and the dual boiler unit more than live up to expectations. I was initially concerned that for a big machine it was going to be a nuisance to have to pull it out to fill up the water tank. Fear not ! It has a clever lid that lifts up on the front of the unit which allows the tank to be filled from the front. When the unit does need to be moved to change the water filter it has a clever “rise and roll” device that enables it to move easily on little rollers. The machine warms up much more quickly than I was expecting which is a bonus as the thermocoil devices in other sage machines was quite tempting.
My only word of caution is that the steam wand, contrary to other reviews, is quite aggressive even when turned down. You really have to concentrate otherwise the milk has become too hot too quickly and the swirl has the milk out of the jug. This is probably more down to my lack of technique, although I think a wand tip is available with one hole in the end rather than the three that comes with the machine. I think this would calm things down a bit if you are trying to texture milk for a flat white.
The overall build quality is excellent and it really looks the part in the kitchen!

Rancilio Silvia E V6 Home Espresso Machine - Inox / Stainless Steel

Love the machine which I picked up at a great price in the boxing day sale, delivered on time. A small problem with a missing rubber foot which I later found in the frame of the machine, but Clumsy Goat sorted out a replacement straight away.
As a first 'proper' coffee machine I'm getting to grips with it and the steam power has meant quite a few milk spills and heavy froth, but getting better. Would recommend a 500ml milk pitcher over 350ml to get started for anyone else new to this.

Simple and effective

Very basic coffee machine with little to go wrong. Comes up to temperature quickly and makes a very good espresso. The grinder works really well and is easy to adjust.
