After researching for a new grinder for espresso dosing directly into a portafilter and within a defined price range I decided upon the Crono. I was extremely pleased with the price from Clumsy Goat and the item was dispatched that day. Packaging was excellent, unboxed and put straight to work. I would highly recommend both Clumsy Goat and the Crono grinder.
This grinder is half the price of other burr grinders in its class and it still manages to produce a very consistent, deep range of grinds, from cold brew through to espresso and beyond. All the dials are completely analogue, no steps to the grind setting here, so it can be more complicated to dial in to the perfect grind for whatever you’re brewing method but the upside is that you can make minuscule changes, so won’t be left thinking that the perfect grind of between the steps. The timer is a very small dial, so can be a bit finicky and it does mean you’re essentially trying to figure out the time to grind the weight you need, so you’ll probably find you’ll waste some coffee either grounding too little and grinding again, or grinding too much. Again though, this can be worked around. The machine has got a satisfying weight to it, it isn’t too loud, and it’s very compact, perfect for a kitchen.
Overall, I’m extremely pleased with the look, the feel and the results.
After too many hours and days reviewing endless articles on burr grinders without breaking the bank, this is the one I went for, great range for espresso and likely goes up to filter however as the machine provides unlimited adjustment I daren't go to filter! Excellent grinder works perfectly you can press the front button with your portafilter and hold it until you have enough.. Not much else to say.. Looks great, high quality metal casing, for this price it makes great sense compared to comparable grinders at a much higher price point.. Clumsy goat was cheapest for me also
My brother recommended this grinder to me. He's got a more expensive Eureka grinder and thought I'd like the more basic one (since I'm not quite the coffee expert he is). I love it. It works really well and looks great. It's a huge step up for me (having bought my previous grinder at a local department store), and I have no complaints. The only thing someone might want to consider before buying this grinder is that it doesn't have grind size settings as such. Instead it has a dial that you can turn to make the grind finer or coarser, but to get the grind size very coarse, for example, you actually turn the dial around all the way multiple times. This makes the numbers of the dial meaningless in a sense. If you switch between different brew styles (e.g., French press and Aeropress), it can be tricky to get back to your preferred grind size; the numbers are only really helpful within a particular brew style. But don't let this put you off - it's a great machine and I don't regret buying it at all.
The grinder is very well-made and has a reassuring heft about it given its compact size. The grind seems very consistent and the aren’t many fines judging by the residue left in my mug after making a cafetière brew. My only complaint is that setting the timer for the dose control is very fiddly and tiny movements of the knob result in quite large changes in the grind time and therefore the coffee dose. But now that’s set properly, I’m very pleased with it.

from 1622 reviewsSuch a good syrup, I add it into my coffees, hot chocolates and cokes and it tastes excellent and has a proper banana taste. Thank you!
We are thrilled with these grinders - it’s our 3rd one! We use them as our second grinder in our bars for decaf, single origins and other speciality coffees. They also look totally cool.
Iv been ordering of Clumsy Goat for a few years now and alothe iv tried others i always come back because there coffee is unbeatable iv never had a bad batch keep up the good work.
I’ve been using the Zuma range for quite some time now, 11 years to be precise, and the quality particularly of the hot chocolate, is incredible. Packed full of flavour, my customers love that it’s vegan and it’s great to work with. Ordering from Clumsy Goat is always brilliant. Fast delivery, super customer service. Very happy, thank.
Eureka Mignon arrived on Tuesday morning after ordering on the Sunday. Great delivery. Product is insane. Super easy to set up. Completely changed my coffee workflow and got it dialed in straight away. Second shot was perfect. Also came with the dosing funnel which it said it wouldn’t, so that was a nice surprise
Excellent so far,a newbie in terms of grinders, feels substantial, quality build many different settings to try. Grinds coffee really fast
Absolutely love this little machine! For the price point it’s a great start as newbie to making espresso. Super easy to set up and very compact! Clumsy Goat have been incredibly helpful and have a great customer service team. All in all a very happy buyer!
This grinder surpassed my expectations. Two things I wasn't expecting. It comes with a bellows to ensure all the coffee is expelled after grinding. I've found it unnecessary as there is minimal retention. I have weighed beans going in and ground coffee coming out and there is no wastage. I was expecting to have to use RDT to reduce dust. I am on my second bag of coffee (both different beans) and there is no need. The coffee comes out completely clean with no mess. Obviously as a flat bur grinder, the grind is excellent. I use an aeropress so I can not speak for espresso machines or filters. Finally, this is good value for money compared to some of the other grinders of similar quality that I looked at.
You will have to go along way to beat the prices offered by Clumsy Goat. Coupled with fantastic Customer Service, advice and guidance, this has to be the goto online shop for all Coffee lovers. Thank you "Team Clumsy Goat". The products I ordered are exactly as described, come well packaged and have performed excellently.
No complains other than the post took an extra day to deliver!!
The product arrived well packeged in perfect condition and tastes as good as it always does.
amazing service and amazing filter machine. i was worried that the temperature of the coffee was going to be mild but is hot as it should be. The machine is a no brainer to use and is perfect if you already like the way the coffee is brewed
Also the built quality is really good although there is some plastic been parts that some users question but i'm hoping this machine will last a lifetime
Clumsy Goat did have not the best but one of the best deal for the machine and service is really good too
the best syrup at great price
Solid bit of kit and makes good espresso once you are used to it, delivery was a bit slow (a week) especially when you consider I'm in the same postcode! 🤣
A great piece of kit! Strong, sturdy and super fast! A doddle to set up and dial in, this grinder has really helped the consistency of our coffee offering and with the gbw feature there is very little waste. We also purchased the automatic tamper which sits under the grinder and is also a great job! Would highly recommend!
I had a Eureka Mignon for years, which was more than sufficient for my needs. When I moved in with my partner, she was not a massive fan of the bright orange, which I thought was very classy, so I decided to buy another grinder and settled on a DF64. This machine has a lot of fans and at the time I was experimenting with different coffees, so it served a purpose, for me though it was the worst, inconsistent, messy, move across the counter device I have ever had the misfortune to use, you live and learn I guess.
Decided, I wanted to make my life easier as I used to begrudge making coffee with the DF, me being the only one that can use the machine, and decided to buy this device, I’m not sure what it will be like in the long run but so far it has been a fantastic experience. There is nothing about the machine that I don’t like, except for the price, but you get what you pay for.
