Had this about 2 weeks. On the whole, really happy with the coffee.
The grinder is easy to use but you definitely need a collar (I got a magnetic one cheaply on Amazon), otherwise the ground coffee overflows the basket. I’ve not had the FH error many times, reseating the portafilter after a few seconds fixed it. The grinder refused to grind once, moving the dial to a coarser setting and then moving it back to fine with the grinder running solved that issue.
The Sage works well, heats up in a couple of minutes, and holds a decent amount of water. I’ve not had much success with single shots but the double shots were easy to get started. I bought a spring loaded (constant 30lb pressure) tamper separately, as I found using the included manual tamper too inconsistent. With the new tamper, the coffee has been consistently good and the workflow is really easy. The milk frother seems good, but I am inexperienced with milk steaming, so still learning the technique for micro foam. The milk heats up in about 25-30 seconds.
Overall I’m really happy with the set up. Having looked at the Ascaso for similar quick heat up time, the Sage hasn’t disappointed.
