About the Product

Impressive Puck. Less mess. Less fuss.
Create third wave speciality coffee at home from bean to espresso in less than a minute. The best of the Barista Express with the Impress™ Puck System. Helping you to achieve the perfect dose and a precise tamp while reducing the grinds on the machine and bench top.
Product DNA
Experience third wave speciality coffee at home, made possible by the 4 keys formula.
Their espresso machines incorporate the 4 keys formula used by professional cafe machines. Designed to use the right dose of freshly ground beans, ensure precise temperature control, optimal water pressure and create true microfoam milk essential for latte art. You're only a touch away.
Intelligent dosing
The smart dosing system that learns on the job. After each dose and tamp, the dose level is read to determine if you need a bit more or a bit less. Taking some of the guesswork out of dosing, allowing you to focus on perfecting the grind size with the precision conical burr grinder with 25 grind size settings.
Assisted tamping
Delivers a constant 10kg impression to your dose, finishing it with a 7º barista twist for a more polished puck.
Precision measurement auto corrects the next dose
If your dose required a bit more or a bit less, the intelligent dose system auto corrects, remembering the last dose and tamp outcome and adjusting it to ensure you achieve the perfect dose this time.
54 mm stainless steel portafilter delivers full flavour with dual and single wall filters
Full bodied coffee with rich and complex flavours is created using the ideal dose of 18g of freshly ground beans delivered by a professional style 54mm stainless steel portafilter.
Low pressure pre-infusion followed by 9 bar extraction
An opulent, creamy and caramel coloured espresso starts with low pressure pre-infusions, followed by a high pressure (9 bar) extraction process delivered via our 15 bar Italian pump.
Thermocoil heating system delivers 93ºC with PID temperature control
The Thermocoil heating system with PID temperature control delivers water at exactly 93ºC for perfectly balanced flavours.
Powerful 130ºC steam for fast silky microfoam

Impressive Espresso, Made Easy
The Sage Barista Express Impress is designed to make barista-quality espresso truly accessible to everyone—no prior skills, guesswork, or messy counters required. By combining smart automation with hands-on control, it bridges the gap between beginner convenience and professional performance. With its assisted tamping system and intelligent dosing technology, it simplifies one of the trickiest and most important parts of espresso making: achieving a consistently perfect puck.
At the heart of the machine is the innovative Impress™ Puck System. It applies a precise 10kg of pressure and finishes with a polished 7° barista-style twist—ensuring an even, well-compacted puck every single time. Plus, it includes an automatic dose correction feature, which learns from your previous shot and adjusts the grind volume if needed. This means less trial and error, fewer wasted beans, and a noticeable reduction in mess—especially compared to traditional tamping by hand.
Whether you're brand new to espresso or stepping up from a simpler machine, the Barista Express Impress is built to support your journey. It reduces the variables that cause inconsistency while still allowing you to engage with the process and grow your skills. It’s confidence in a machine—offering the satisfaction of manual brewing, enhanced by clever automation that makes great coffee more achievable, more often.
A Smarter Way to Brew
The Sage Barista Express Impress improves not just your coffee—but your entire brewing workflow. With a thoughtfully streamlined design and intelligent features, it takes the friction out of everyday espresso making. From dosing to tamping, it simplifies the process, making it cleaner, faster, and genuinely more enjoyable—especially for those who want quality without the learning curve.
Its assisted tamping system ensures a uniform, polished puck every time, applying consistent pressure with a professional-level twist finish. Combined with intelligent dosing and real-time feedback, it reduces the need for manual corrections and fine-tuning. You’ll spend less time adjusting and cleaning up, and more time enjoying reliably delicious results, shot after shot.
From the moment you switch it on, it’s clear this machine is designed with real-life users in mind. It builds confidence, cuts down on mess and waste, and delivers consistent performance you can depend on. All of this comes together in a way that keeps the brewing process hands-on and rewarding—so you still get to enjoy the craft of making espresso, without the common frustrations that often come with it.

Let customers speak for us
from 1716 reviewsThis has fast become my wife’s favourite coffee, I originally ordered a small bag alongside my Moccamaster machine and grinder, initially I just thought the new machine was simply doing a better job than my old one (well it is but,,) the coffee-attracted positive comment from she who must be obeyed and so a larger bag was purchased. Smooth yet flavourful describes it perfectly
I ordered a Coffee Dripper, but due to my own stupidness I mistakenly ordered the wrong size. When I explained what I had done to the lovely people at Clumsy Goat they exchanged the incorrect item for the one I had actually wanted.
Their communications and customer service were truly first class.
Very happy with my experience and would certainly shop with them again and recommend them to anyone.
Brilliant. Really easy to use and very quiet.
Well. I never knew I'd get so excited about a coffee grinder. This Eureka Mignon Filtro Silent however has added a touch of pure elegance and grinding delight to my daily routine.
The machine is so quiet, grinds consistently well and quick, simple to use, no mess, coffee tastes exceptional.
The service received from Clumsy Goat matched the quality of this excellent machine.
One happy customer, thank you.
Attractive looking orange jug - I was able to create perfectly textured milk for two - 750ml - very happy with my purchase 😍
So far, I have been really impressed with my new Ceado E5SD grinder. It's consistent grinding is helping me make cafe quality coffee at home, plus it's teasing out all of the published flavour profiles of the beans that I am currently using.
London Pottery teapot exactly the one we were looking for, great price and speedy delivery. Thank you
Sturdy Knock-box with metal knock bar that holds about 10 double espressos worth of grounds. Easy to empty and clean. Looks good in the counter space.
Just upgraded to this grinder from a Sage grinder which I fell out of love with very quickly. It’s smooth in operation, it grinds consistently and so far I’m over the moon. Oh and I should mention it feels well built unlike plasticky Sage products
Recently moved to this Machine from my previous (De Longhi) one. I felt that my love of coffee and the thing that starts my day warranted a better coffee. I couldn't justify my skills for the purchase of the new 'Up' machine so went for the EVO pro Classic (Brass Boiler). Still getting used to it, but am enjoying. The functionality is easy to understand and operate, its just the application that you have to learn, but am getting there.
No complaints with the delivery from Clumsy Goat and the follow up and the machine is a good one.
Good smooth flavours, makes a great brew using pourer or French press. A nice change from our daily flat whites.
These make a huge difference when making coffee using a Hario V60 as without one you'll struggle to put water on slowly enough to control the flow through the coffee - simply indispensable and at a bargain price
Nice size to fit on my La Pavoni when measuring shot weight and time. Easy to use.
I have been trying to find a new coffee as ive used the last of my coffee from Iceland, and go recommended this one. Very tasty coffee, very strong which i like.
After a lot of research I decided to get the Silvia for my espresso needs. I have never had an espresso machine before so I am as much as a beginner as they come :)
Miss Silvia was packaged very nicely and very secure. The team at Clumsy Goat were so great too! Replied to my email within a few minutes and were very helpful and friendly. The machine arrived very quickly too.
I am using the Baratza Encore ESP Pro to grind the coffee and I am able to pull really good espressos. Takes a bit of playing around and I obviously don't have the pallet necessary to distinguish very subtle changes in the shots I am pulling but I am very satisfied with the taste, not bitter not sour, very pleasant to drink straight.
I am not a milky coffee person but I have made a few attempt at making a latte. The steam pressure is crazy and I do struggle with putting the milk jug in and out, the space under the wand is a bit tight for me so I will look at getting a knock drawer to put under the machine to elevate it a bit. But with all that I think I made a successful milky coffee the third time I tried it haha.
I will look at a PID in the future, but for now the machine came with everything you need to pull a shot. The portafiller and tamper seem to be really good quality, might upgrade to a naked portafiller in the future as well . The machine itself is of course very qualitative and with proper care it should last for a very long time.
I am very happy with it and I look forward to using it every single day. I do recommend it to anyone looking to get an espresso machine but they're not looking at a plug and play type of experience. If you're willing to learn and increase your knowledge and experience with different coffees and grind size etc this is a good, realiable machine.
